Audio Script

Sound effects - The sound effects I have planned are going to be recorded in post production. I need footstep sounds for my film and I will record these with a boom mic. I need to record the sound of washing up in a sink for when the characters are in the kitchen. This will help the audience realise they're are just like a normal couple at the start of the film. If people were to want to use my own recorded sounds for their film, they would need to ask for permission or make sure I don't have copyright claims on it.

Atmospheric-  The atmospheric sounds I need are for a normal room/corridor and the kitchen. I will record atmospheric sound in a quiet, slightly echoey room for the kitchen and in a small normal room for the corridors and living room.

Music- The music I am  is non-diegetic because it has been added into the film in post production. When using music from another source in a real production, it is illegal to use it of it has copyright laws on it.

Dialogue -I need to record a scream for one of the main characters to finish off the intense scene at the end.

Risk Assessment

Recce

Production

When recording the foley sounds, I will use a boom mic to get the direct sound effect of footsteps and the washing up of the dishes. This means the sound is much clearer because if it would to be recorded with an atmospheric mic, the sound would be included with a load of other noises that the mic would capture.  The boom mic has a lot of gear which can get in the way and cause hazards due to the long wires and big pieces of equipment which is why we made a risk assessment for the task, making sure we are aware of what could go wrong.  For the atmospheric sounds, I would use an atmospheric recorder that records the surrounding area. For my film, I needed to record a quiet room with a clock and a corridor. It captures all sounds in an area and I made sure that the clock ticking noise was captured for when I use it on the kitchen scene with the clock.

Legal and Ethical

When recording sounds for my film, I need to make sure all surrounding and background sounds are quiet and nobody is talking because if someone who doesn't want their voice in my recording talks, we will have to delete the recordings. Also, if we were to record dialogue, the person who's voice is on the recording will have to give their permission.

Using other recorded sounds and music that other people have made without their permission can cause legal action taken if copyright is in place. Or, if I have copyright claims on my content, people can't use mine without contacting me.

When recording anything inappropriate, such as swearing, I need to let an audience know that their is sensitive language/content in the video.
