Task 5 - P5/M3 - Carry out a Test Shoot using a 3D Scale Model

MERIT - Resolve Functional Issues

After reviewing my set, i came across a problem with the doors. The wall that they are attached to is short and doesn't give enough length to the track that the doors need to slide in. Doing this differently, i'd make sure that the wall was longer so that the doors smoothly slid backwards so that they are fully hidden when opening. Other than this, the other props such as the smoke machine and green screen fit well with the miniature scale. The smoke machine may need to be placed in a different location such as on the outside of the set rather than the ceiling for safety reasons. When it comes to space, the set is tall enough for average sized people and the floor space has enough room for easy movement.

When filming in the set, using a tripod in the corner of the set will help get the wide angles of the set as well as capturing the actors in the set. Another camera location/angle that can be used at the top of the set looking down into the scene. Some unique angles can be used to give the audience a first person perspective on what it may have been like on the ship. This can be done by placing cameras onto seats to make it seem like they are sat in the ship. I could also create removable wall in the set that allows more movement for the crew and cast and easersetup and access to equipment. this can then be replaced when switching cameras angles
